What made you decide to be a BankSouth Loan Officer?
I started my mortgage career with a background in Real Estate and after a very successful career, I decided to enter the Mortgage Business. I always loved the financial side of the real estate transaction, and I love helping borrowers and navigate the mortgage experience. I feel that the borrower should be well informed about the mortgage process.
What makes you different than others in your profession?
My reputation for being honest, thorough, and available to my borrowers has helped me build a great business. Helping you get your dream home is my highest priority.
Flashback to when you were 10 years old. What do you want to be when you grow up? Why?
When I was 10, I wanted to be a nurse so that I could serve and help people. Though, I then realized there are many important ways you can serve and help people. I am passionate about the mortgage industry and serving my borrowers.
What organizations are you active in?
I am a member of the Mortgage Banker Association of Georgia (MBAG) and a Gold Award Winner. I am also is a volunteer for Golden Harvest Food Bank and served 5 years as a Board Member of the Sales & Marketing Council of Augusta.
What do you enjoy doing on the weekends?
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my daughter and granddaughter, friends and family.

Sharon Simons has been in the mortgage industry since 2008. She started her career in the building business where she gained valuable experience in new construction and investment property. Sharon also spend 15 years as a Realtor during which time she learned how important it is to keep buyers informed on each aspect of the mortgage process.
